The exhibition 'The Passionate Eye' gives a comprehensive insight into the work of the worldwide known and celebrated photographer and takes the observer onto a journey through Brazil, Japan, Burma, Tibet, Afghanistan, India, Africa und Europe. Steve McCurry is considered one of the most important and influential contemporary photographers especially known for his unique pictures from Asia and his reportages from area of conflicts as Kashmir, Afghanistan and Iraq. Steve McCurry travels the world since 1978 and catches sight of the fleeting moments of human existence. He became famous all around the world for his portrait of the Afghan Girl from Nasir Bagh refugee camp in Pakistan from 1984 - a portrait published on the front pages of National Geographic, TIME and GEO, as well as further renowned magazines. The portrait was elected for the 100 best pictures from National Geographic and advanced to a portrait that is as well of iconic character as a picture that everyone knows.
