Südamerika. Brasilien - Argentinien - Peru

The photographer F.C. Gundlach - founder of the House of Photography in Hamburg - is one of the defining fashion photographers of his time. Already in 1956 he traveled with Lufthansa on the first intercontinental flight from Hamburg to Rio de Janeiro. In South America, in addition to elegantly composed fashion photographs, pictures were taken of the impressive architecture of avant-garde beach houses or futuristic buildings in the capital city of Brasilia, designed by Oskar Niemeyer. The exhibition also shows the country and the people of a continent that saw its dawn of modernity in the 1950s and early 1960s.
